It's pretty bad isn't it? I think they should do something about it because it caused them such embarrassment. I've recommended them to place a review on Loudervoice to start...
I'd be by-passing loudervoice, contacting the Irish Tourist Board first: complain to them, and then look for some Chamber of Commerce in Kildare and complain to them, and then finally write a letter to the owner of the restaurant.
@runningwithbulls I completley agree. He had no issue serving my friend and her family who are Irish. They had already paid for the lunch-time meal when the issue arose and the chef made his feelings known about her 'Brittish' husband.
@runningwithbulls The second option. I know. I will clarify the details and if I can convince them to do a LV review I will direct you to it for the facts.

That kind of thing is absolutely unforgiveable.
Let us know what happens.
Thousand welcomes me arse!

@runningwithbulls he's not even a tourist, he has been living in Ireland for several years and the restaurant is not far from where he lives.
I'll pass on the advice and I'll let you know what happens.

@conwaykt even if he was a tourist! I mean, in light of jobs gettin' axed at the moment that guy should be glad he has a job!
Its disgraceful, if the guy had a personal grudge against "English people" he should still zip it, and be professional.
No, there is no excuse for that in today's world..particularly with restaurants and food industry places shutting.

I was absolutely shocked to hear it.

@conwaykt wait, so the chef gave him food, took his money, but didn't want to take it as he was English?
Or, he gave his "Irish" wife and her family food, but refused to give him food?
This gets weirder and weirder!

@conwaykt Oh my God. I am laughing reading this (laughing as in...I cannot believe what you are writing). WTF is all I can think.
You have to convince them to complaint formally. That is so FUCKED UP! What a tool.
Seriously, they have to complain. Bizarro.
